Notes & Reviews:

The Thompson Brass Ensemble joins organist Barbara Bruns for recordings made using the Fisk organ at Old West Church in Boston, the Fisk organ at the Parish of Christ Church in Andover, and the Fisk organ at St. John's Episcopal Church in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

American Record Guide, March/April 2015
Barbara Bruns, of Christ Church in Andover, is the fine organist. She selects tone colors judiciously, never allowing organ to overwhelm brass, choosing distinctive timbres for solo passages. Her technical skills are excellent. The big question in brass-and-organ recordings is always about acoustics. They are very good here, with fine balance and natural sound. The Thompson Brass Ensemble is quite good. The players are trumpeters Thompson and Richard Given, horn players George Sullivan and Kevin Olson, trombonist Swanson, and bass trombonist Gabriel Langfur.
