Notes & Reviews:
Soft, played with intensively close listening, feeling the inner essence of the music: this is how the exceptional Japanese pianist Nami Ejiri approaches the late works of Schubert on her GENUIN debut CD. Alongside the great Sonata in B-flat major, she plays the Four Impromptus, D. 899 and the more rarely played Allegretto in C minor (D. 915). One has time to discover this magnificent music anew: the young Frankfurt professor, celebrated throughout the world, is not one of the thundering piano virtuosos – but she can give Schubert's music all the sharpness and weight that it requires. Let's have more of it!
