Album Remarks & Appraisals:
Improvising jazz pianist Mats Oberg is one of Sweden's top keyboard players; having accompanied many, including Frank Zappa when just 17. He also plays in his own trio with Filip Augustsson and Sebastian Voegler. For this second of his 'Improvisational' series albums, Mats recorded improvisations on the music of Berndt Egerbladh, his uncle and a well-known Swedish jazz musician. The recording conditions were the same as for all earlier releases in the series: a sumptuous concert hall, a large Steinway, the pianist and a sound technician/producer - in the dead of night, the witching hours.
Recording information: Nybrokajen 11, Stockholm, Sweden (12/11/2006-12/13/2006).
