Album Remarks & Appraisals:
"Numero Deux" (2001) was the second album of Stefano Ghittoni and Cesare Malfatti aka The Dining Rooms, following on their debut ‘Subterranean Modern vol. 1’, released in 1999. It amplifies and radicalizes the concepts of the first album with more Hip Hop rhythm derivations, blues ambient atmospheres and jazz accents. Numero Deux utilized the creative contribution of various guests: the vocal minimal-soul duo Sepiatone (Marta Collica & Hugo Race), co-authors of “False start” and “Chorus of flames”. The electric bass of Luca Lagash is heard on “Sei Tu” and “Numero Deux”. Vincent Dalschaert and Dany Greggio are featured on “Verso il sole”. Maria Arena created the collage of the cover and directed the videos of “Numero deux”, “False start” and “Sei tu”, included on the CD as CD-ROM tracks. Numero Deux’s re-release now includes 2 previously unreleased bonus tracks.
