Album Notes

Cheap packaging and minimal information make 100 Hits: Supreme 70s look just a bit suspect, but it's a legitimate release. A set that consists of five 20-track discs, it's far too arbitrary to be considered definitive -- it haphazardly mixes genres with no sense of continuity -- and many of the artists appear with two songs, so it's not exactly diverse. Among the motley assortment here are the Main Ingredient's "Everybody Plays the Fool," the Three Degrees' "Take Good Care of Yourself," the Walker Brothers' "No Regrets," Harry Nilsson's "Coconut," David Essex's "Rock On," Earth, Wind & Fire's "Fantasy," and Barry Manilow's "Mandy." ~ Andy Kellman
