Notes & Reviews:

Composer in 1926, at the end of Janacek's life, the Glagolitic Mass is both a universal mass, not attached to any particular church, and a patriotic Czech work. The language used is old Slavonic (Glagolitic) and the work definitely refers to the old united Slavonic nation. This is a most virtuosic and demanding work for the orchestra, choir and soloists.
