All of the material on Lenore O'Malley's two albums for Polydor was written and produced by Lana and Paul Sebastian, along with Michaele -- the same team responsible for albums by disco artists Madleen Kane and Theo Vaness. Though there's nothing groundbreaking here, O'Malley has a solid, pleasant voice, and the arrangements are well-executed. Of the two standouts here, most will remember the title track, a memorable disco number musically patterned after labelmate Gloria Gaynor's anthem "I Will Survive." Though the lyrical ideals presented here are a bit clichéd, they have a lighthearted swing that matches the song's brisk rhythms well. But the real gem is the mellow, encouraging "Put a Rainbow in Your Heart," with plush strings and a lovely vocal. Otherwise, the material here is, again, well-arranged and played, but not particularly memorable or convincing. The subsequent Lenore (the singer dropped the "o" from her name) is more versatile and thoroughly engaging. ~ Justin M. Kantor
