Personnel: Cecil Wilson (guitar).
Simrillion is a delicate and tuneful recording that combines all kinds of electronic and acoustic timbres to create a unique and pleasant sound world. The recording uses traces of all kinds of instruments, most prominently is the guitar which is masterfully handled by the man behind Simrillion, Cecil Wilson. This recording, in a lot of places, has traces of a Pink Floyd influence, but rather than ripping them off stylistically, it seems as though Wilson has created a disc that keeps with a similar vibe, by painting a picture with sounds. The music of Simrillion is strangely evocative, creating pictures of a "Brazilian Raindance" or "A Walk in Tunisia" while at the same time creating a sonic world that for each individual listener to bask in. This recording also has a bit of a Claude Debussy touch, especially in Wilson's use of timbres and chordings. This is a finely crafted recording, and one that is certain to evoke pleasing images of rainy nights and blue-sky days. ~ Matt Borghi
