Personnel: Leni Stern (guitar), Bob Berg (tenor saxophone), Wayne Krantz (guitar), Dave Tronzo (slide guitar), Lincoln Goines, Harvey Swartz (bass), Dennis Chambers (drums), Don Alias (percussion).
Recorded in October 1988.
Leni Stern utilizes such impressive sidemen as fellow guitarist Wayne Krantz, tenor-saxophonist Bob Berg, Lincoln Goines or Harvie Swartz on bass and drummer Dennis Chambers on eight selections, all but one being her originals. The music ranges from a three guitar jam on "Groundhog" (which adds blues guitarist Dave Tronzo) to a song dedicated to Jaco Pastorius ("Who Loves You") and the melancholy strut "Maybe." Overall this set of music holds one's interest even if Stern was at this point a stronger composer than guitarist. ~ Scott Yanow
