Notes & Reviews:
The Anglican musical tradition is rich with music for All Saints Day. The choirs of St. Philips Cathedral in Atlanta, under the direction of Dale Adelmann, perform new and traditional anthems with themes of heaven and the saints.
American Record Guide, July/August 2015
The Episcopal Cathedral of St Philip in Atlanta has an outstanding mixed choir (10-13-12-13) and a Schola drawn from the ranks of the choir. This program presents 17 works for the Feast of All Saints, half of them by American composers of our time. Settings of the All Saints' Day gospel (The Beatitudes) by Craig Phillips, Gerald Near, Dan Locklair, and Arvo PSrt and settings of 'Holy is the True Light' by William Harris and Gerald Near offer chances to compare different approaches to the same texts.
