Notes & Reviews:
Trumpeter Eric Aubier is the worthy successor to Maurice André. After 25 years, he continues his collaboration with today's major composers, to develop and grow the repertoire for trumpet. This album juxtaposes two coexisting aesthetics at the beginning of the 21st c.: "tonal" with Nicolas Bacri (b. 1961) and Karol Beffa (b. 1973), and "avant-gardist" with Martin Matalon (b. 1958) and Carlos Grätzer (b. 1956). These four works were written between 1996 and 2005.
