Notes & Reviews:
The Spanish guitar, equally capable of playing melody or providing broken chords for accompaniment, is the ideal complement to the bassoon, an instrument capable of producing warm, mellow, round and at times even mellifluous tones that belie the instrument's appearance. The Ferrara Duo - bassoonist Annina Holland-Moritz and guitarist Stefan Conradi - have selected 21 pieces by composers from three centuries, both famous (Mozart, Elgar) and lesser known (Gopfert, Senaillé) to convince listeners that there exists quite some repertoire for their instrumental combination.
