5'2" Chris Perricelli is a guy whose sense of self -- given his band's name! -- long ago realized that his rock `n' roll heart and talent are greater than his diminutive stature. Having written and recorded with various Little Man lineups for a decade, in Chicago and of late Minneapolis, he sure plays a mean guitar -- whether electric or acoustic -- and his rhythm section follows that tenacious lead. Like Jeff Tweedy, Perricelli perches on that place where Paul Westerberg meets classic rock `n' glam, while his vocals seek a vein between T-Rex and Dave Davies' turns at the Kinks' mic. And does this to hot, filthy garage licks like the raucous "Shag It You Want To" (yowsa) or more mannered pop like "Undertow" with equal panache. ~ Jack Rabid
