Notes & Reviews:

First performed in 2002, Alice is the moving story of a woman's fight for a new life in colonial NZ. Fleur Adcock's text, with music by Gillian Whitehead, is already recognized as a NZ musical masterpiece. Also featured on this CD is "Karohirohi," an exquisite short concerto for harp and orchestra, plus one of Whitehead's most impressive symphonic scores, "The Improbable Ordered Dance."
