Album Remarks & Appraisals:
Multi-instrumentalist André Leroux is a master not only of the tenor saxophone but all other saxophones, as well as the clarinet and transverse flute. He transitions easily between jazz, classical, pop and contemporary music. The list of renowned artists he's played with in his 30-year career is a long and distinguished one. Synchronie-Cités, his latest album, shifts between different cultures, individuals and musical styles, creating patterns of tension-relaxation. It's a collection of spontaneous moments, a synchrony of musical worlds and random acts of artistry.
