Notes & Reviews:

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Les Violons du Roy, ATMA Classique presents a sampler disc comprising some of the most beautiful recordings made during the long and fruitful collaboration between the orchestra and the ATMA record label featuring music by Gluck, Bach, Pachelbel, Rameau, Mozart, Bartók, Piazzolla, and Britten. The selection includes a hitherto unreleased recording, made in 2008 under the direction of Jean-Marie Zeitouni, of Arvo Pärt's Fratres. The orchestra's other conductors on this compilation are Bernard Labadie and Mathieu Lussier. Canadian singers Karina Gauvin and Daniel Taylor, and Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo are also featured on this anniversary CD.

American Record Guide, September/October 2015
This is a compilation-sampler of music recorded by Les Violons du Roy from 2006 to 2014. It includes excerpts from their recordings of music by Gluck, JS Bach, Handel, Mozart, Bartok, Piazzolla, and others. The Quebec City-based ensemble has won accolades at home and abroad for their concerts and recordings, particularly recently on tour in London, Paris, and Berlin (2014). The only previously un-released item on this recording is Arvo PSrt's Fratres, here for solo violin (Pascale Giguere), string orchestra, and percussion. PSrt's genius for atmospheric music is on full view. Its multi-stopped triads spun out by the violin over static harmonies in the strings will carry you into the ether.
