Notes & Reviews:

Divided into two twelve-count books, Claude Debussy's 24 Preludes are precious jewels of modern piano literature: fascinating, intimate, technically challenging and full of sparkling, melodic and harmonic twists and turns. French pianist of international stature Pascal Gallet, for many years a teacher at the National Conservatory of Music in Montreuil, offers up his interpretation of Book 1 plus two further Debussy encores. A further twelve track bonus finds Marguerite Long, interpreted by Marie-Rose Carlié, guiding listeners throughout Pascal Gallet's new Prelude interpretation.

American Record Guide, July/August 2015
"Seek discipline and find your liberty." "One must forget that the piano has hammers." Two of Debussy's fondest convictions were expressed in those statements. Surely the preludes illustrate them perfectly. The pianist is fine. I am especially fond of Francois- Joel Thiollier on Naxos, and the recent Bavouzet on Chandos is good, too.
