Notes & Reviews:

All these recordings were made in Berlin, Vienna, and London between 1939 and 1950 during the early years of Schwarzkopf's career.

American Record Guide, September/October 2015
This became a pleasant, nostalgic ramble through repertoire speedily dropped once she had heard it sung by some of her equally famous colleagues such as Tebaldi, Callas, and Freni. Here are the splendid excerpts from HSnsel und Gretel with her good friend Irmgard Seefried - who also joins her as a superb Octavian for the presentation scene from Der Rosenkavalier. Both the Liu and Mimi airs are very good. On the whole then, a worthwhile reissue.
