Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky is the name he uses here and piano pieces played by him. He also did two-piano pieces with Argerich at one point. He was born in 1945 in Russia and now resides in Switzerland. I much impressed or convinced by this composer's use of number relationships as a structuring device for the compositions. The immediate sounding surface of the music must be compelling on its own to invite a listener to delve further into its mysteries. The music - particularly the first disc, is attractive. The second disc includes a work for amplified piano. The performances are good to great.
