Deben Bhattacharya (1921 - 2001 won international recognition as an expert on ethnic folk music, dance and poetry. From 1955 onwards he produced documentary films, records, books, radio programs and live concerts related to many aspects of his subjects of research. From his vast and important archive comes an album of Religious Chants from the Buddhist, Hindu and Sikh sects of India, recorded over a two-decade span between 1954-73. With this album, you'll discover the roots of much of India's music in their purest and original form.
