Album Remarks & Appraisals:
Trumpet player Stephane Belmondo is one of the most famous French Jazz musicians. His new album ‘Love for Chet’ is a tribute to the late trumpeter and singer Chet Baker. With double bassist Thomas Bramerie and guitarist Jesse Van Ruller, he covers some of the greatest Chet Baker songs, originally played as a trio with Doug Raney & Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen (N.H.O.P.) for Steeplechase in the 1980s. “Chet Baker was my friend and my hero. I was still a young musician and he invited me to play with him. We talked about music and life. He always gave me precious pieces of advice.” (Stephane Belmondo)
