Album Remarks & Appraisals:
The Arga Bileg ethno Jazz Band, founded in 2009 by group of eleven professional musicians and dancers, leads Mongolia's modern music scene with a jazz that masterfully combines the traditions of Mongolian music with contemporary Western jazz. Arga Bileg aims to lead Mongolia's modern music and dance scene with their new fusion style. The band's performances are staged with contemporary set design and they include electronic elements in their compositions and live sets. Members of the band are award winning musicians, composers, dancers and choreographers who have performed in many prestigious venues worldwide. The Heiri Känzig Quintet features four leading Swiss jazz musicians with whom Heiri Känzig regularly plays. Born in New York, bassist Heiri Känzig has been a long-term player on the international scene. He is a virtuoso technician whose sound comes to the fore in the widest range of contexts from jazz and improvisation to world music. The "AGULA" project is an example of harmonious Swiss and Mongolian culture diplomacy via the innate creativity and diversity of the universally shared language of music.
