Notes & Reviews:

The Delos label presents a winning selection of show-stopping arias and duets from three of the world's most beloved operas as performed by two opera singers considered to be among the most exciting of the rising generation, complemented by the acclaimed Kaunas City Symphony under the baton of "singer's conductor" Constantine Orbelian. Their program here includes - on the Italian side - the best-known excerpts from Verdi's Aida and a selection from Il Trovatore - as well as the choicest numbers from Puccini's Tosca. Tchaikovsky's darkly beautiful Queen of Spades represents Russian opera. The legendary Monserrat Caballé has described Bolshoi star soprano Dinara Alieva as a singer who possesses "the gift of heaven," and The Telegraph of London has hailed tenor Aleksandrs Antonenko's voice as having "... a big, thrilling and beautiful sound."
