‘Music From Turkey and Greece, played by the Du¨-Sems Ensemble, is a lively and varied album presenting various musical forms and dances common to Greece and Turkey, such as Zeybek / Zeibekiko, Kasap Havasi / Hasapiko, Karsilama / Andikristos and others, all described in the accompanying booklet. Founded in 2010 in Istanbul by Osman Kirklikçi, Emre Erdal and Osman Öksu¨zoglu, the ensemble was created with the intention of bringing traditional Turkish music to an international audience and collaborating with traditional musicians from countries such as Greece, Iran, Syria, and the Balkans.
