Grammy nominated pianist Marc-Andre Hamelin continues to astonish the musical world with his artistry. Filmed in Canada, Scotland and Britain, 'It's All About the Music' portrays the Quebec-born artist in his exploration of the works of Busoni, Godowsky and other brilliant composer/pianists from the early 20th century 'Golden Age' of the piano. Part one is a documentary film about Hamelin that includes interviews with Ronald Stevenson, Robert Rimm and Andrew Keener. Musical selections range from Alkan to Kapustin to Schubert. Part two features Hamelin live in recital playing works by Godowsky, Liszt, Debussy and others. Part three includes a concert performance of the fourth movement of Busoni's piano concerto with the Lahti Symphony Orchestra led by Osmo Vanska.
