Notes & Reviews:
Brussels-based Belgian composer Philippe Boesmans began as a student of piano at the Liege Conservatory, but his contract with Henri Pousseur inspired him to pursue music composition. Boesman's earliest efforts date from 1960 and his work has now been heard at the most important festivals of contemporary music. The libretto for 'Julie" was adapted by Luc Bondy from August Strindberg's "Miss Julie"; the result is an affecting chamber opera for three soloists and eighteen instrumentalists.Notes & Reviews:
