Notes & Reviews:

At first glance, there appears to be little connecting the composers Paul Juon, Fabian Mu¨ller, Ernest Bloch and Arthur Honegger save their common Swiss heritage and the fact that the works recorded here call for a string orchestra and solo instrumentalists. Slightly over nine decades separate the youngest and oldest of these composers; their biographies and oeuvres, however, reveal a number of surprising similarities. Founded in 1964 in Tbilisi, Georgia but based in Ingolstadt, Germany since 1990, the Georgisches Kammerorchester is here led by its newly minted (2015) A.D. Ruben Gazarian.
