Wonderful Cast
Filmed at Orange during a mistral, this is truly an extraordinary cast with Simon Estes, Montserrat Caballe, Grace Bumbry, Renato Bruson and in the title role , Jaume Aragall.

Don Carlo is a long and difficult role that contain no arias of the rabble-rousing kind and is a favourite of Aragall. After his aria in Act 1 he has to compete with Montserrat Caballe singing magnificently as the Queen, Grace Bumbry as a very convincing Eboli, Posa a tremendous performance by Bruson and the King majestically sung by Estes.

There are only two legitimate videos of Aragall and it is essential DVD for all lovers of exquisite tenor voices.
