Notes & Reviews:

The Edition Primavera already consists of numerous commendable CDs, produced by GENUIN in collaboration with the German Music Competition! The latest work of this series is the debut CD of the fantastic pianist Frank Dupree, the 2014 prizewinner. In his clever program he spans an extremely wide range of music: enclosed by Beethoven's first and last piano sonatas, works of the 20th and 21st centuries - a world-premiere recording of Peter Eötvös, as well as Berio's Encores and Alban Berg's first sonata, are performed. Thanks to Dupree's pianism, this is both an intellectual as well as an extremely sensual pleasure- highly recommended!

American Record Guide, May/June 2016
The young-looking Frank Dupree won the 40th German Music Competition in 2014. His website lists his birth year as 1991. There are also middle works by Berio - Water Piano, Air Piano, and Fire Piano - and Peter Eotvos's Earth Piano-Heaven Piano along with Beethoven's Sonata 32. This is Dupree's own first opus - his debut recording.

And a fine debut it is, too. The Beethoven Sonata 32 is a young man's performance, but it's tonally beautiful and guileless. The three Berio works are not often recorded, so it's nice to have them in one place, and they are perfectly served by Dupree's white-hot technique. The Berg has more passion and verve than many performances I know. And the Eotvos, a memorial for Berio, is atmospheric and haunting, revealing the great tonal variety of Dupree's playing. Lovely sound.
