Notes & Reviews:

The two Trios for piano, violin and cello by Mendelssohn are masterpieces of Romanticism. The form “piano trio” provides a perfect balance for the palette of sounds of the three instruments. The virtuosity of the piano mingles effortlessly with the string's passionate and fiery strains. The Trio Carlo Van Neste is passionate about this music in which the luminosity, the complicity and the perfect understanding of the performers shines through. The palette of sounds is harmonious and elegant, the new and fresh colours range from the darkest to the most sparkling, a sheer delight for the performers. Two brilliant works which exude a genuine desire to please and share, where one can observe fragility and power, love and hate, drama and sarcasm, ferocity and subtlety... The Carlo Van Neste Trio is made up of three Belgian musicians of international renown : Karin Lechner (piano), Maya Levy (violin) and Alexandre Debrus (cello).
