Performer Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Pianist Terry Eder developed an affinity for the music of Béla Bartók through Hungarian influences in her education and immersion in Hungarian life and culture. Eder's performances have taken her across the U.S. and to Europe and Asia. Among her many honors are top distinction in the Ibla and Bartók-Prokofiev-Kabalevsky competitions in Ragusa-Ibla, Sicily.

American Record Guide, November/December 2015
Eder's Bartok has a similar crispness. That is apparent in the 6 Dances in Bulgarian Rhythm and the Bagetelles. Bagatelle 3 and the Romanian Dances are vibrantly played. Romanian Dance 2 could have more character and color, as could the first of the 6 Bulgarian ones. Song 1 is more fluid and lyrical, in a romantic vein. Taken at a brisker pace, Song 5 has more verve. The voicings in Song 6 evoke Bartok's textures more clearly.
