Notes & Reviews:

Orange Mountain Music presents the world première recording of Philip Glass's Symphony No.10 performed by the Bruckner Orchester Linz under the direction of Dennis Russell Davies. Following the grand sweep and large canvas of Glass's Symphony No.9, this work is set in five shorter movements, and is a compact tour-de-force. The composer's 2012 Concert Overture was written as a celebratory piece to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812. The rousing overture is featured here in its world première recording.

American Record Guide, November/December 2015
The idiom is by now familiar in Glass's work: I particularly enjoy the cortege-like II and the scherzo-like III. The Concert Overture, which Glass describes as an homage to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, glitters like the Russian's with orchestral color and works itself into a satisfying and grandiose climax. Davies and the orchestra shine as always.
