With a score by Dhani Harrison of indie rock band thenewno2 (and son of late Beatle George Harrison) and sound man/composer Paul Hicks, both part of the music team for Richard LaGravenese's Beautiful Creatures a year prior, 2014's Learning to Drive is a comedy-drama about the relationship between a Manhattan writer with a failed marriage and her native-Indian driving instructor. A mix of rhythmic Indian instrumental and ambient guitar/synth stylings, the score constitutes 16 of the soundtrack's 17 tracks, joined by one song: the Kalyanji-Anandji songwriting team's "Aye Naujawan Hai Sab Kuchh Yahan" from the 1972 film Apradh, which was sampled in the 2005 Black Eyed Peas hit "Don't Phunk with My Heart." ~ Marcy Donelson
