Album Remarks & Appraisals:
A new group that combines jazz with electronic pop music! The music is dark and jazzy, but danceable, and suddenly you hear a haunting ballad. Moments later, it could be inspired by Sun Ra meeting Kraftwerk. Jimi Tenor has never settled for the traditional role of a pop artist; he is known as a musician whose work lies beyond current trends (although he has written great hits like "Take Me Baby.") Kalle Kalima is an ambassador of Finnish jazz and avant-garde music; he has played with Jason Moran, Jim Black, Greg Cohen, and more.
Personnel: Joonas Riippa (drums); Kalle Kalima (vocals, guitar); Jimi Tenor (vocals, flute, saxophone, keyboards).
Recording information: Helsinki (12/2013-04/2014).
Photographer: Maarit Kytöharju.
