Notes & Reviews:

Austro-Russian pianist Maria Walzer pays tribute to both her musical heritages with music by Mozart and Beethoven as well as Medtner and Scriabin. Praised by Paul Badura-Skoda as "a creative talent, to be encountered very rarely", the pianist invites us to join her on a very intimate journey to serious and deep music making

American Record Guide, March/April 2016
Walzer's performance of Medtner and Scriabin shows immense precision. One gets the sense that she is a pianist who adheres to the score accurately. The swift, opening Scarlatti sonata is well articulated and effortlessly played. The slower Sonata in F minor is straightforward. Mozart's Piano Sonata 12 is a good performance, as Walzer adheres to the phrasing marks that other performers often pedal through. III is especially controlled, with a deft use of dynamic shading. Her left hand is exquisite.

It is also nice to hear Medtner's Fairy Tales, which are rarely programmed. Her playing is excellent.
