Notes & Reviews:

This new release includes the world premiere discovery of Ferdinand Hiller's Piano Quintet. Hiller was an influential musician in 19th-century Germany and a contemporary of Schumann, whose Piano Quintet, Op. 44 is also featured. It is rare for Schumann's masterpiece to be played on a fortepiano; the instrument here is from Schumann's house in Zwickau, and is said to be an instrument that the composer himself played.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Robert-Schumann-Hans, Zwickau, Germany (10/2014).
