Argentine expatriate Diego Verdaguer has become one of Mexico's most enduring singing stars over the course of a career that's spanned three decades and is still going strong. 2009's Mexicano Hasta las Pampas finds Verdaguer teaming with successful singer and songwriter Joan Sebastian, who contributes four compositions to this set; it also includes several new tunes from Verdaguer and his collaborators, and features 11 strong and passionate performances from the veteran vocalist. ~ Mark Deming
