This double-CD documents an improvised live session by German techno veteran David Moufang (best known as Move D) and Dutch producer Jordan Czamanski (of Juju & Jordash fame). Over the course of nearly 100 minutes, they take their time to build and ride propulsive rhythms, changing things up and adding new elements only when the moment is right. The beat sequencing and keyboard playing seem very loose and spontaneous rather than something perfectly planned ahead of time. This is exciting at some moments, but at other times it seems like a rehearsal session that just happens to have an audience. The second disc contains more Detroit-inspired techno rhythms than the first, with serene synth pads gliding over loose, wobbly beats. Acid synth lines creep up into the mix at several points. The session ends with an extended free-floating ambient section, incorporating dubby melodica as well as contemplative synth arpeggios. ~ Paul Simpson
