Moby Dick: Music by Ludovic Bonnier

Album Summary

>Page, Jimmy : Moby Dick
Performers Composer

Notes & Reviews:

A true masterpiece of Anglo-Saxon literature, American author Herman Melville's novel Moby Dick continues to fascinate, more than 160 years after it was published. It has inspired a new play, an adaptation by author Bryan Perro and stage director Dominic Champagne, and with it comes Moby Dick, the album.

On this album, you will discover Ludovic Bonnier's 12 songs and musical numbers, strongly inspired by a fusion of genres. "Just like America, this album is a patchwork, with references to Ireland, Quebec and Africa, and has hints of rock, classical and atmospheric music," explains the composer and sound designer.

The song Petit vaisseau d'or, performed a capella by Les Charbonniers de l'enfer, with a straight quote from the chorus of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine, is a perfect example of how lines between genres and eras are audaciously blurred.
