During his career, Quebec pianist and composer Gilles Bernard has collaborated with many of the finest jazz musicians in Quebec as well as with such internationally known figures as John Zorn (1985) and the famous Hungarian gypsy violinist Elek Bacsik (1991). He has recorded seven albums under his own name, including "Mot" (Effendi), ranked among the 10 best albums of 1999 in Le Soleil, a Quebec newspaper. 4 Rue Durocher, Mr. Bernard's third album for Effendi, a quartet affair of sax, piano, bass and drums, features seven new compositions and arrangements by Mr. Bernard.
