Notes & Reviews:

Following her recent, well-received recordings of Glass, Nyman, and the Études of Chopin and Schumann, pianist Valentina Lisitsa now records works of Scriabin. For the composer's 100th anniversary in 2015, Valentina delves into his lesser-known works and finds some beautiful gems. All the works included are recorded for Decca for the very first time.

Gramophone Magazine, January 2016
The predominant quality of the Lisitsa disc is charm. She plays the early pieces, most of which sound nothing like mature Scriabin, with attractive delicacy and lucidity... [but] her somewhat prettified, rose-tinted vision makes you appreciate all the more the closer affinity with Scriabin that comes through in the playing of both Berlinskaya and Sudbin.

American Record Guide, March/April 2016
Lisitsa is a wonderful Scriabin interpreter, her touch incandescent, sensitively teasing out and connecting Scriabin's long. Her devotion to the derivative and less than- inspired unpublished pieces is admirable - really more than they deserve. Beautiful piano, beautiful sound, a most useful collection celebrating the centenary of Scriabin's early death in 1915.
