Notes & Reviews:

Written a dozen years apart (1895-1907), these two piano quintets have many similarities to other works of French chamber music from the period. At the same time, these masterpieces, that are played all too rarely, bear witness to the vitality of Spanish music at the dawn of the new century. Pianist Javier Perianes is joined by the Cuarteto Quiroga in an ideal coupling that reveals the fertile imagination of these two Andalusian composers and their total mastery of the genre.

Sunday Times, 22nd November 2015
Ideally idiomatic readings.

The Observer, 22nd November 2015
A companionable pairing ... beautifully played by Javier Perianes and Cuarteto Quiroga.

BBC Radio 3, 21st November 2015
Both worth rediscovering, especially in these engaging performances from the Quiroga Quartet and pianist Javier Perianes.

Gramophone Magazine, December 2015
Perianes and the Cuarteto Quiroga create a strong and supple bond of ensemble, finding characterful contrasts in the finale between zestful momentum and the little moments of reflective calm that from time to time halt the flow... It [the Turina G major Piano Trio] fully merits the luminous, animated, sensitive performance that Perianes and the Quiroga give it.

The Irish Times, 18th December 2015
The performances present both works in the best light.

MusicWeb International, 28th December 2015
This delightful work, flecked with splendid effects and rich moods, can be heard to excellent advantage in a performance that never goes overboard expressively. It never needs to ... This is, I think, a unique coupling. I enjoyed the performances very much. They are elegant and controlled.
