Notes & Reviews:

Kansas City based William Jewel College Concert Choir led by Dr Anthony Maglione is known for its imaginative concert repertoire that ranges from Baroque to Contemporary musics. The Trumpet Sounds figures heavily in the contemporary classical choral tradition with an impressive diversity in the featured composers including those not frequently found in contemporary choral repertoire. Dr. Maglione's eight movement cantata for voices and trumpet, based on Walt Whitman's poem The Mystic Trumpeter closes this intrepid release with its world premiere debut recording .

American Record Guide, May/June 2016
From the sound of things, there's a lot to admire about the music-making going on at William Jewell College, a liberal arts institution in the Kansas City metro area. A joyful noise is made by the Concert Choir under Maestro Maglione's direction, the group has access to commendable soloists on its faculty and in its region, and Ann-Marie Rigler, the Jewell organist is, well, a jewel of an organist. There's also handsome playing from out-of-town trumpeter Randolph Lee. Mr Maglione's ringing half-hour cantata inspired by Walt Whitman's 'Mystic Trumpeter' makes full use of Mr Lee's estimable services, as do the Hovhaness 'Prayer of St Gregory' and Ian David Coleman's blending of 'Steal Away' and 'What A Friend We Have in Jesus'. (Coleman is the Music Department chair at William Jewell.)
