Notes & Reviews:

The American Modern Ensemble is a champion of contemporary classical music and the new collection 'Mavericks' salutes some of the most innovative musicians in the new music/electronic worlds who have invented groundbreaking ways to perform their instruments, often utilizing cutting edge technology, non-traditional playing techniques and inventive musical notation. In works that incorporate electronics and feature voice, strings, winds, brass, percussion, and piano, the boundaries of defining Classical music are made porous with these sonic explorations that point the way compellingly to new sound worlds.
