Notes & Reviews:

The complete Carnegie Hall debut of the then 25 year old Martha Argerich in 1966 is the subject of this marvelous collection highlighting as it does her incipient musical gifts that continue to enthrall audiences today. Argerich's performance can be appreciated with the uncommonly good technical quality this recording possesses, and her program which included Prokofiev, Liszt, Chopin and Schumann hint delectably at the nascency of the legend she would go on and continues to build.

American Record Guide, May/June 2016
In this program, recorded in 1966 at a Carnegie Hall concert, Argerich's trademark warmth and virtuosity shine. Played at under four minutes, 'La Leggierezza' is one of the fastest interpretations I have heard. She displays wonderful color and control in III especially. The Schumann Fantasy has much of the same.

There are much better recordings of Argerich playing the same works - this is standard repertoire. The Concertgebouw recording of the Prokofieff sonata offers much better sound quality, and the playing is much cleaner.
