Sister Audrey: Populate [Limited Edition]

Album Reviews:

Option (Sept.-Oct./92, p.128) - "..tight, tuneful and irresistibly laden with hooks and good singing.."

Album Notes

Sister Audrey spends more time on protest and political material than romance on this set. She's angry on "Children of the Ghetto" and stern on "Populate" and "Africa Is Zion." She shows a soft side on "If I Love You" and "Love Was All I Had," while "No Work" and "Nobody's Fool" take realistic views of potentially destructive situations that can only be remedied by tough actions. Although her voice sometimes seems a bit thin and light for the sentiments being expressed, Sister Audrey plows through the lyrics and punctuates the messages. The ten selections are neither too strident nor overly sentimental. ~ Ron Wynn
