Notes & Reviews:

35 year-old Jack Liebeck has established himself as one of the most compelling young violinists on the concert platform today. On Volume 19 of Hyperion's Romantic Violin Concerto series he turns in a dazzling performance of the much recorded Bruch Violin Concerto No.1 and readings of the gorgeous Serenade Op.75 and Romance Op.42 that are full of youthful vigor.

Gramophone Magazine, January 2016
What Liebeck seems to be saying is that Bruch needs no additional sweeteners. His playing is unpretentious and strikingly introspective, resulting in an Adagio of quiet dignity. And even if the first movement doesn't quite match the grandeur of Julia Fischer's or the sweaty passion of Vadim Gluzman's, it stands out for its poise and clarity.

The Guardian, 21st January 2016
Liebeck is a red-blooded, eloquent advocate throughout.

American Record Guide, May/June 2016
The program opens with the Serenade, which is actually 11 minutes longer than the concerto. It's a beautiful piece with a dreamy Nocturne as the third movement. It's very well done here - and the sound is really much richer than in the Accardo. Sound does make a big difference; with the right sound the music penetrates deeper into your soul. I respond very well to Accardo's playing. He is Italian, of course - so his playing is richer emotionally than Liebeck's. The Romance (Op. 42) is another very attractive piece that, along with the Serenade, you must have So Jack Liebeck has reached me this time, in his own quiet way. He doesn't dump himself in your lap and demand attention; he draws you in with great subtlety. I never thought I would like this so much!
