Rolling Stone - "As ingrained as Grobler may be in American life, though, his music -- with its echoes of school choirs and Lionel Richie, tropical breezes and the uncharted waters that surround them -- is never that simple."
Entertainment Weekly - "Sure, MATTER is boozy brunch music, but it's probably the best brunch record ever made." -- Grade: B+

Brooklyn's St. Lucia return with their second album of buoyant, melodic synth pop, 2016's Matter. The album follows up the group's acclaimed 2013 effort, When the Night. As with that album, Matter showcases the talents of lead singer/songwriter Jean-Philip Grobler. This is infectious, anthemic music that often sounds as if it were culled from the soundtrack to an '80s John Hughes film. Included on Matter are the singles "Dancing on Glass," "Physical," and "Love Somebody."
