Notes & Reviews:

This remarkable album contains Franz Liszt's Paganini Studies, performed by esteemed pianist Goran Filipec. These works were based on compositions by infamous violinist Niccolo Paganini, and are some of the most virtuosic and technically demanding pieces in piano literature. Croatian pianist Goran Filipec has won top prizes in international competitions, continues to perform internationally at such renowned venues as Carnegie Hall, Auditorium di Milano, Mariinsky Theatre, Bela Bartok National Concert Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, and across South America and Japan.

Gramophone Magazine, June 2016
Goran Filipec is a new name to me but in this repertoire at any rate he is the real deal. With a technique that makes you forget just how exacting these pieces are to play, Filipec not only generates the thrill of a live performance but does so with a disarming swagger and playfulness. Indeed, he nearly convinced me that the Carnaval of Venice variations are not as bad as they really are.
