This 2015 live combo offers the 2015 incarnation of Lynyrd Skynyrd -- one fronted by lead singer Johnny Van Zant and guitarist Gary Rossington and Rickey Medlocke -- running through the entirety of the band's first two albums, Pronounced Le-Nerd Skin-Nerd and Second Helping, in front of a hometown crowd in Jacksonville, Florida. Over the decades and through several lineup changes, Skynyrd has gotten a bit heavier -- the six strings are louder and the beat doesn't swing as much -- but they're still recognizably part of the Lynyrd lineage, something that becomes more apparent as the show rolls on and the group delves deep into the catalog that forms the Lynyrd Skynyrd legend. Nothing will replace the original albums, but for hardcore fans, it's still a treat to hear the modern band salute their roots. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
